Well you just never know what you are getting yourself into until you jump in. Monday was a day of all liquids before the surgery on Tuesday. We all head up to San Antonio Monday evening to stay with my sister. Tuesday morning I was like the kid on the first day of school. First one up to take a shower and get dressed for the hospital. It's all down hill from there. I remember getting ready and I remember signing the paperwork when they tell you the list of horrible things that CAN go on but RARELY ever do. My out patient day surgery ended up with an overnight stay. I can't even tell you if the lap band surgery hurts or not because my esphogous cramping is what hurts the most. Apparently a cramping esphogous trumps any other pain you may be having. It demands attention! So the good news is, they have given me valumn to make sure I am relaxed and things don't cramp up AND I am starting to feel better.
Food Journal:
Monday-water, chicken broth
Tuesday-IV fluids
Wednesday-1/2 of a jello cup (I got full!) and a frozen fuit pop
Thursday-frozen fruit pop (2)
I am ALMOST ready to joing the world of the living. I've had a shower today and that was enough to exhaust me. The scale is down 7lbs. It's amazing how feeling miserable will wipe out an appetite. ;-)

Call it a day

I can't even remember the last weekend that we were able to spend so much time together. Today I finally got things done.
Edward's Litter-check
2 tax returns-check
cleaned kitchen-check
cleaned out the cub boards and the fridge-check
reading material for the week-check
laundry-we'll talk about that later.
We have work to do in the morning. I have "staff" lined out with things to do at home and at the office. Ian has to get his people lined out. I'll pick up Matthew when I'm done with the last client. Then WE ARE OFF! Tomorrow is clear liquids only for me and liquids for THE NEXT SIX WEEKS! In honor of the weeks to come we thought it fair to have breakfast tacos this morning (chorizo, bean and bacon because if I'm gonna do it up then I'm gonna do it up big) and ribeye and salad for dinner.
Now on to take care of business. Getting my mind, body, house and business in order. The three of us (Matthew,Ian and I) are heading to San Antonio tomorrow and things around here are gonna change.
My goal is to do a blog a day until next year at the 4th of July. I may not write anything great EVER but it will be me, the good, the bad and the ugly with little bursts of greatness thrown in for the occasional surprise.

Saving Grace
We watched THE ENTIRE first season on the Apple TV. I've said it once, I'll say it again...."LIVING WITH IAN...MEMBERSHIP HAS IT'S PRIVILEGES" It was'nt our plan to watch ALL of them but once we started, we were invested and we have not watched AN ENTIRE season of anything in such a long time. This used to be "our" thing. In the early days we watched CARNIVAL and THE WIRE. Our summer travel trip we watched the entire season of LOST. Just he and I for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There wasn't much talk of the office and not a whole lot of HOUSE work. OH I COOKED! I should have taken a picture! My chicken tacos were bad ass. Ian cut the onion and I slow cooked the chicken and cooked the corn toritllas on the griddle with butter spray pam. I decorated the plate with green chilles served with a nice cold beer. Me and my baby we are going out with a bang.
We went to the beach today. It was cloudy and rainy. We got out and visited with our friends. I communicated through text with my kid. I made PLANS to clean. Yes I must PLAN to clean. It doesn't just come up in my daily everyday life. Little things like the smell of the litter or a full trash can in the bathroom remind me "I need to clean" and now that Ian and I have had some time and we got out of the house and the week is going to start..I PLAN to get the bedroom clean and some tax returns done before I go for surgery. Keep the money coming in while mama is on her back. Don't want to leave the girls making excuses for me if calls come in.
I'm glad I have another day to "get my shit together". I had fun. I've been lazy. Now it's time to get ready for the surgery and be prepared to work. I am prepared. Well I'm planning on being prepared anyway. :-)

How Ironic
Celebrating the Independence Day weekend. The week end kicks off with a phone call from my surgeon. The Lap Band surgery that I THOUGHT was going to be on the 22nd has been moved to the 8th! Yes that means today is the 4th and the surgery is on the 8th! I am ready. I am ready emotionally, physically and the office is prepared. The office is as prepared as I can have it be. It is MY business and I don't know that "the office" is ever as prepared as I would want it to be for me to be away from it. I don't know that I am EVER comfortable leaving the business un-attended by me personally. I didn't think myself a control freak but I am rethinking that now.
The fact of the matter is MAYBE and only MAYBE I hide behind the work of building a business, remodeling the house, planning the wedding, so that I have a socially acceptable excuse for not making the time to focus on my health and well being. I MUST make it a point to schedule time at the gym and eat better. The business will not fall apart if I swim in the morning and check in at 9am instead of 7am. RIGHT?
I am even going to post my BEFORE picture as motiviation towards working on good AFTER and IN THE PROCESS pictures.
Well it is my first blog post ever. I'm not sure of the "rules" but I figure now is as good of a time as any to get started with this. I plan to post the journey of my life's transformation. Going from a single mom to marrying my perfect guy. Dealing with my food issues and growing the business. Here we go!
